Working closely with a local designer and a skilled team of local tradespeople, this project embraced the character of the surrounding environment. Bush poles were individually selected from the nearby forest, carefully chosen to suit each specific application. These natural elements were seamlessly integrated into decks and handrails, creating a clean, continuous flow around the home while significantly increasing the usable floor area.

The exterior showcases a striking combination of traditional local hardwood cladding and modern metal profile feature wall cladding. This blend of materials achieves a balance between warmth and contemporary style, grounding the home in its coastal setting while delivering a refined architectural finish.

Throughout the build, our team worked cohesively to ensure every detail aligned with the client’s vision. Daily consultations allowed for close collaboration and responsive decision-making, ensuring design elements were adapted and refined as the project evolved. The extensive timber work perfectly suited the strengths of Jake Smith Carpentry, bringing together craftsmanship, precision, and passion for natural materials.

Environmental factors required careful planning and close coordination between trades, but through proactive management and flexibility, the project progressed smoothly. The build was completed on schedule, with the Occupation Certificate delivered just days before Christmas—allowing the clients to begin their new chapter in their dream home without delay.
